Thanks for having me back!

My name is Matthew, and I am ooooooold School Fallen Wolves. I've just returned to EQ after having been gone a year or so. I fired up the old account and I'll be playing a Rogue this time around.

I joined FW back in the day when Jexel/Rydax were the leaders, circa 1999-2000ish??? I think I even have a screenshot of my necro nuking the *&^% out of Clakar before a SolB raid. <hehehe...gotta love Darkness, fear, and that one necro spell that turns its victim into a skelly.

I have a 55th necro and a retired 45ish pally, but I'm going to spend my time leveling my new baby rogue, currently level 5. If any of you have lowbie alts, and you would like to group, give me a tell. My rogue's name is Nixil. I've currently committing genocide on the cats and spiders in East Commons.

This time around, my playtime will be more limited than it was back in the day....perhaps I can sneak in an hour or so a night. With a wedding this summer, Lesson Plans to make in the evenings, and the a child on the way, I won't have the extra weekday time to live in EQ the way I did 4 or 5 years ago. But I do plan on spending some nice weekend time with yall. ;D

BTW....this may be a foxx pass, but I'm looking to "get a hold of" a level 45ish to 50ish druid account....perhaps someone has one they no longer use. If so, give me an email: [e-mail] We can talk terms. Since I wont have endless hours during the day/evening, I want to maximize my time online. I hope to blast through the lower levels, and I can't spend hours traveling, LFG, etc. A nice Druid with Damage Shield and Regen spells should allow me to solo blast my way up to 20th or so.

Wednesday night was divided between a few different activities: upgrading items, faction farming, exp grinding, and Tradeskills.

The changes in EQ still baffle me. Items that were once considered premium are now considered yard trash. I was able to purchase some very nice low levels items from the Bazaar, items that a level 5 would have never had in the past. I have now outfitted my lowbie rogue wiht a full set of lowbie armor, including a nice bow and a good dagger!

And I used my mean little bow from the Bazaar to plink every orc pawn I came across last night. You see, I need to max out my faction with Freeport Merchants, Ashen Order, and the NFP Pallies. Also, does anyone know of a fast/easy way to build faction with Carson McCabe? A friend mentioned killing the gobbies in High Hold, but I have no idea what the minimum level is for hunting the gobbies in High Hold. Eventually, I will need to have good faction with Carson McCabe for the Rogue Epic, Ragebringer. There's no time like the present to start thinking about the future.

And at the present, I'm treating the wolves, panthers, and some spiders to a sound thrashing in Northern No. I still have to make the occasional dash to the zone when things get out of the hand, but it's all in good fun.

I ended the night with a sound beating from the thugs in the bar by the Freeport docks. I needed to get some Dwarven Ale for the Jenem/Rebby faction quest, and I wasn't able to re-shneak fast enough before some mean ole' ogre sent me packing. Does anyone know of a safer place to purchase Dwarven Ale in and around Freeport?

Thursday evening was spent grinding to 7th. Wooot!
I now have Pick Pockets!

I have also been experimenting with using the EQ Macros while grouping. While fighting a mob, I use the following to great effect:

/attack off
/doability 1 (Pick Pockets)
/doability 2 (Sneak)
/doability 3 (hide)
/attack on

This allows me to skill up on my rogue skills and reduce my aggro a bit, which totally rocks!

Nice to hear from you again, old boy. I know that most of the old school FW peeps are probably gone, but it's ok. This time around, I am a much more casual player. With a fiance and a baby on the way, I don't have the time to game the way I used to.

Btw, Clakar, I still have a screenshot from the Clakar/Nanaelil duel in Lavastorm....Nanaelil kept nuking you with Ignite Bones.....I'll email it to you sometime if you want...../snicker.
